Albert uses his new powers as chief for personal favours--with inevitable problems. Sarah discovers that some children are sniffing gasoline. Michelle worries that Hannah might be one of them.

Everyone in Lynx River is shocked by Eric's sudden death. His wife Lindy comes to get his things. Albert considers replacing the RCMP detachment with a band constable.

A diamond mining company is working near Lynx River, and the residents are unhappy about it. Michelle learns about Hannah's rebellious behaviour.

Bertha returns to Lynx River, and Teevee tries to make things right with her. Gerry's shop isn't profitable, and Rosie considers buying it.

Albert convinces Betty not to create a new treatment center in Fort McIntyre. Betty comes to Lynx River with Sandy Carlisle. Peter wonders what made Betty change her mind. Bertha tries to tolerate Teevee's laziness.

Construction of the Treatment Centre falls behind schedule as Leon is forced to contend with Gob workers and work stoppages. Brian Fletcher returns and takes over the investigation. Michelle tries for a reconciliation with Hannah.

Michelle and Hannah's weekend camping brings ugly memories to Michelle of her childhood. Teevee tries to convince Bertha to stay in Lynx River. Betty has new plans for the treatment center.

Teevee and Peter go to Yellowknife to pitch an idea for youth recreation to government officials. Betty is nervous about the opening of the treatment center, especially when one of her clients, Suzie Muskrat, disappears on the first night.

Peter considers accepting a job offer from Ottawa. Bertha is frustrated because Teevee can't support her or the baby. Betty offers Sarah a job at the treatment center, but Albert isn't happy about it, so he asks Sandy to get Betty out of his way.

Albert's old friend Ben Montour comes to Lynx River, wanting to get his life back on track, but Ben finds it difficult to cope with people in town. Ellen and Peter's relationship faces a crisis.

Michelle alerts Sarah about Albert, but Sarah doesn't believe her. Teevee is shocked when he finds a familiar face in Ben Montour's motel room.

Peter neglects his band council duties as he busies himself gathering oral histories from Lynx River residents. Ben Montour continues to disrupt things, especially the people who care about Lois Tenia.

Albert is away from Lynx River, so Peter has an opportunity to become chief. Teevee isn't happy to see an old acquaintance from Vancouver. Leon and Rosie argue over her work responsibilities.

Albert returns to Lynx River just as council attempts to impeach himself;Nathan pursues TeeVee who is possibly going to testify against him.

Lois decides to take drastic measures after being rejected by both Ben and Harris. Rumours spread through town about Nevada being HIV positive, causing havoc.

Walter and Herbert Golo threaten Daniel and Teevee before Nathan's trial. Teevee decides to take a job in another town, but Bertha refuses to go with him, and Teevee gets angry at Joey's increasing attention to her.
