Moe Nishinosono tells her mentor Souhei Saikawa that she interviewed with Dr. Shiki Magata, who is a genius but killed her own parents when she was 14.

Saikawa and his students come to Himaka island where Magata institute is located. He and Moe visit the institute while the others enjoy camping.

Saikawa, Moe and the institute's staff are deeply shocked by appearing Shiki's body without arms and legs on an electric kitchen cart from her room. Meanwhile, the director Shindo arrives the institute with Shiki's sister Mirai.

Shindo was killed, that makes them confused. Saikawa and Moe find a clue: there are messages from Shiki and someone else on her computer.

Shindo's wife tells them that Shiki lived with dissociative identity disorder and has 4 distinct personalities.

Saikawa and Moe return to the camp, but visit the institute again to solve the 2 murder cases. They find a new clue in Shiki's room.

Saikawa talks with Mirai, and learns that Shiki had a sharp mind. With the help of the staff, Moe experiences a device that allows her to visualize the thoughts in her own brain.

Moe was finally able to regain the memories that she had lost in the shock of her parent's death. The institute's staff reset the system which has kept causing trouble since the day the murder occurred.

The police including Moe's uncle arrived on the island. Saikawa and Moe cooperate with them and use their own talents to find out the truth.

Saikawa and Moe solve the mystery. What kind of person was Shiki?

The case closed, and they returned the ordinary days. After a while, a woman comes to his laboratory to meet Saikawa.
