The Paul Daniels Magic Show - Season 9 (1988)

Featuring the "magic goes wrong" antics of Kohl and Company, plus the lasso talents of Vince Bruce.

Paul tries something a little different for a magical guest on this edition - rather than a current act, he presents the audience with archive footage of Cardini. In the studio is flyback expert Randy Brown.

An edition with many guests, the centrepiece of which is an 11-minute set by old school ventriloquist Albert Saveen. Among Albert's many characters is a noisy dog and young puppet with a broken heart.

Guests include the advanced shadow puppetry of Prasanna Rao, while Paul gets to pay homage to one of the greatest magicians, Harry Jansen - more popularly known as Dante.

Paul attempts to recreate the famous telepathic feats of the Piddingtons by getting Magnus Magnusson and Lord Soper to pick a book and word at random from the reading room of the British Library and correctly guess the word they choose.

Juggling act Airjazz make their third appearance on the show within three years. As they're now so familiar with the programme, Paul decides to get to know them a little better by involving them in one of his rope tricks.

A second Halloween Special, airing after 10pm due to the darker nature of events. With guests including Eugene Burger and Robert Powell, Paul finds himself being burnt alive in what is definitely not a family version of the show.
