 Season 3

Another adventurous season of His Dark Materials comes to the small screen, the TV series based on the Philip Pullman books. The third season follows the story in the final book, The Amber Mirror, and takes place in a number of worlds controlled by the Magisterium – a powerful theocracy that will stop at nothing to root out heresy and eliminate those who threaten its authority. The Magisterium has decided Lyra Belacqua is one such threat and she must be killed. Mrs. Coulter, played by Ruth Wilson, hides Lyra in a remote cave and the story unfolds from there. Dafne Keen is back in her role as Lyra, and James McAvoy also returns as Lord Asriel.

 Season 2

Series 2 begins after Lord Asriel has opened a bridge to a new world, and, distraught over the death of her best friend, Lyra follows Asriel into the unknown. In a strange and mysterious abandoned city she meets Will, a boy from our world who is also running from a troubled past. Mrs. Coulter searches for Lyra, determined to bring her home by any means necessary.

Series 1 follows Lyra, a seemingly ordinary but brave young girl from another world. Her search for a kidnapped friend uncovers an evil plot.
