Alexander Dreymon stars as a young man who, as a boy from Northumbria, was snatched by the Danes and raised in Denmark. His torn loyalties add physiological depth to the beautifully shot action.

A strong opening episode, which set the scene for conflict to come and introduced us to both a host of intriguing new characters and the return of some very nasty enemies from Uhtred's past.
