Rebecca Nicholson
Its episodes are only half an hour long; it's bleak as a comedy and silly as a drama; and it's got a fairly despicable female lead. All of which, of course, makes for fantastically entertaining TV.

Suzanne Gordon
The Atlantic
A series like Nurse Jackie is a rare gem because it manages to entertain, instruct, and debunk traditional stereotypes about nursing all at the same time.

Caryn James
The Daily Beast
Falco is piercingly good, enough to make you wish the writing was as sharp as her performance; Jackie's character is a walking emotional landmine, roaming through too many hackneyed medical-show dilemmas.
