Man, Woman, Wild - Season 1 (2010)

Shipwrecked on the remote coastline of Tasmania, Mykel and Ruth battle hypothermia, dehydration and hunger in the face of an approaching storm that threatens to make a bad situation, deadly.

Mykel and Ruth find the hunt for water in the Chihuahuan Desert so tough that they have to turn to their medical team as Ruth experiences severe dehydration. But she gets back on her feet and they manage to survive for their planned helicopter pickup on day 4.

Mykel and Ruth capsize while rafting down the Colorado River. Unfortunately they reach shore on the desert side of the river where food is almost nonexistent. If they plan to eat in the next few days they have to venture back into the near frigid river to cross to the other side. Fortunely, Mykel has a technique for starting a fire fast to save them from hypothermia.

It takes some determination and a good bit of effort but Mykel and Ruth find some pretty good eating on a South Pacific Atoll. Water remains a precious commodity. Shelter is an absolute necessity as the thunder of millions of little feet that keep them awake at night quickly demonstrate.

Stranded in Alaska's spring thaw Mykel and Ruth find the soft snow makes everything they do difficult. Unable to find food they decide to try to hike back to civilization.

When Mykel and Ruth wander far off the beaten path in the Smokey Mountains, their deliverance depends on eluding hungry black bears and a host of hidden hazards lurking in the forest.

Though the terrain and the undergrowth is pretty rough, Mykel and Ruth find the eating on the island of Dominica pretty good. Finding a nice secluded beach, they might decide to stay awhile.
