Stefan doesn't share Marie's optimism that Konstantantin, not even being the biological father, will stand by pregnant Jenny, as the overprotected brat does so far. Stress mounts as the opening of the forest experience center approaches, but it may have to be called off when the illegal waste dumping Stefan's new dog helps discover is found contaminated with Hanta virus. That's transmitted by rodents, and the seniors are just desperately trying to get rid of a mouse in the youth hostel.

The forest experience center's financing is dubious after the town lost its quarry income. The mayor is delighted when a foundation offers to help, but Stefan's mistrust may justified as Grandl's scheming faction is probably behind it. Daniel finds practically free lodgings on site for his training with lonely farmer Paula. After Jenny's miscarriage, the adults doubt if Konstantin will stand by her, but mother's allowance blackmail drives him to move out and seek a place with Jenny.

Stefan remains more optimistic then his staff about the already delayed opening of the forest experience center. An early guest is a blind one, testing how accessible the facilities are for the handicapped. Alas, her guide dog is diagnosed gravely ill. Bickering Josef and Wolfgang failed to mind young Lucas, whom Stefan finds with the blind girl. Guiding her trough the forest later proves even harder. Mayor Kögl now aspires cohabitation.

Camping in the forest with some mates, Daniel gets a campfire visit from what seems a vagrant wolf and is unable to prevent Henry spreading the news. Stefan delegates the logging course, with only female pupils, to capable seducer Daniela and coarse old Franz, who each have an admirer among them. Stefan tracks the canine down, afraid hunters may kill it first. He identifies it as a Czech dog species and finds the young owner. Meanwhile junior son Lucas gets forgotten.

The Bavarian ministry has delivered special permits and ordered the mayor to host a Saudi prince on diplomatic visit, who exceptionally may take home a European buzzard egg. Stefan's protestations are waved and he must cancel his marital quality time weekend, only to learn on site there's very little to do. Stefan ends up in bed with wife Marie's sister Daniela. Daniel finally convinces Petra they should stop hiding their affair, only to find her daughter Anja already guessed and doesn't mind. Stefan however accidentally catching them in the raw and makes a scene he ...

Major foundation sponsor Meierhof makes the major force Stefan to show him around the park, then doesn't show up and 'delegates' to his adolescent sons: Philip, the company heir who returned home from his US college, and irresponsible Anton. Ronald is to take care of them, but can't allow climbing or mountain-biking. Anton decides on the second anyhow, and chasing them, Ronald makes a bad fall, only Philip sees to his rescue. Meanwhile only Daniel truly stands by Stefan after he confessed his infidelity to Marie, who moves out, while the major dumps her unfaithful ...

Wolfgang and most of the villagers keep bugging Stefan about his break-up with Marie, who plans to leave town. Daniel supports Stefan, but that causes trouble with brat sister Lisa who sides with mother without knowing what happened and stays for a while with Petra's daughter Anna, who tempts her to try a dangerous hallucinogenic 'herbal tea'. Stefan wonders if the mysterious affliction of Xaver's bees is on account of grumpy neighbor Franz Berhammer. The veterinary diagnosis is an unrelated parasite, but Stefan does discovers the man's secret contacts with Grandl and...

Stefan meticulously instructs which trees to fell. Yet a branch coming down from another just above a public bench wounds his father who noticed it just in time to prevent it smashing one of the kids he and Josef were showing around and teaching about the forest. A raccoon running wild is caught by old Franz, who hooks up with an initially hesitant lady and tries out living together. Stefan and his forestry team work out who removed his felling mark and why, a case of love. Yet Daniel nor the mayor can convince him to tell and save his job after the ministry threatens...

Nearly everyone in Störzing feels miserable. Stefan remains sharply watched by the Forestry department and his family situation is very tense. The mayor painfully fails to avoid his feisty wife. Lake tourism is harassed by wild geese, which prove hard to chase. A falconer is unwisely called in behind Sefan's back. Josef and Marianne can't handle the youth hostel repairs viz. guests in comfortably rehabilitating Wolfgang's absence, yet he seems unmotivated to return home.

While fetching a stick, Kai's pet dog is fatally stabbed by a wild boar. Stefan is ordered to mount a driver hunt as the father has clout in town council and ministry. Konstantin is fed up with Jenny giving her journalism academy exam preparation priority over him, yet celebrates generously. The mayor inspires the vindictive women to consider making up with Stefan like he tries. Wolfgang is released from hospital but Josef has a hard time motivating him to pull his weight again rather then linger in bed. Stefan and Badstuber find brat Lisa's animal rights action ...

Stefan expected much-needed funding fro the nature reserve from sponsoring, but the bio-milk Grandl launches is exposed using dodgy cattle-feed by the local paper and activists. Konstantin learns his mother's firm may be bankrupted and thinks up a way out by founding a daughter firm. The bank refuses sufficient credit, but Stefan points out a farmers family looking for an opportunity. Wolfgang, now on crutches, tries to make him self useful but only clumsily bothers Josef and Marianne.

Stefan can only commiserate with a small, uninsured local timber grower who is loosing everything, due to a mysteriously appeared Asian citrus tree parasite. It's ultimately traced to Keppler's garden center, run by Eva's romantic partner. Gammerdinger builds an Alpine cabin for free for the nature reserve but gets a naughtily good deal when Grandl and her council ally want the rights to copy and commercialize it.

Stefan and Marie accept, surprise, to be witnesses at the wedding of the mayor and Daniella, which becomes public and subject to conspiratorial surprises after the mayoral secretary overhears the couple over the Intercom. Gammerdinger gives a course on mushroom picking and consumption, but Danielle ignores his warning against combining alcohol with a species she took home. Wolfgang and Josef fish trout and sweat over suits for nothing.
