After an undercover FBI agent's body is dumped on the side of the road, all eyes turn toward Dean Bendis, an undercover LAPD officer currently embedded with the gang believed to be responsible for the FBI agent's murder. Dean's boss, Carter Shaw, is determined to bring the gang leader down while also ensuring that Dean has not turned and switched loyalties. Carter sends in Ty Curtis, who must leave his life as a newlywed to return to the seedy underbelly of the criminal world and get Dean out. Meanwhile, Carter recruits and trains the latest member of his team, Jaimie...

It's Melissa's birthday, but her husband, Ty, is working undercover and isn't supposed to see her. Ty breaks with protocol and sneaks out of his hotel room to spend the night with her the evening before he's supposed to bring down a gun trafficker. Unfortunately, he is followed, leading the gun dealers to question whether he's on the level.

A ruthless drug dealer with a background as a lawyer proves a difficult target for the team. Jaimie is on point for the case, which gives her fellow team members the chance to learn some bits and pieces about her real past.

Ty and Dean clash as they target a Korean drug and counterfeiting gang. Meanwhile, Jaimie and Dean continue their secret affair.

Carter and his team investigate the kidnapping of Gloria Malnik, an employee of CEO Thomas Sheppherd who was kidnapped in error, before it leads to her death but they are hindered at every turn by the FBI. Elsewhere, Dean becomes jealous of Jaimie's back-on relationship with Scott.

Dean and Jaimie pose as a married couple to get close to a mastermind robber. Meanwhile, Ty begins to second-guess the danger he faces on the job after he gets close to the sister of their target just as his wife Melissa asks him to think about them having a baby together.

Ty goes undercover at a police precinct to help with the investigation into highly decorated officer Lt. Jay Frye and his ties to untouchable drug dealer Terry Isaiah.

As a new gang called the Venice Kings aim to take over the heroin market Dean goes undercover to bring them down and protect his nervous snitch. Meanwhile, Ty's sister Diana is looking for money to have an operation on her hand. Elsewhere, Jaimie worries that Carter has gone too far in interrogating a suspect's girlfriend.

Jaimie goes back undercover to try and get an introduction to notorious gun dealer the elusive Sanchez by way of her ex-con partner Billy Cline. But Billy finds out that it was her that got him incarcerated and blackmails her into getting a bust squashed by her boyfriend Scott. Sickened by the case Jaimie threatens to tell Scott the truth about her job but Dean tells her to get rid of him as it will only get worse.

Carter is the prime suspect in the death of an undercover DEA agent; Melissa starts to pressure Ty to leave the unit so they can start a family; Jaimie's boyfriend gets a new job in San Francisco.
