Burnside - Season 1 (2000)

With Burnside's blessing, Sam continues her dangerous undercover mission to lure Evans deeper into her web. But could it be that the original suspect, Forbes, has been overlooked too soon? With his reputation and, more importantly, Sam's life at stake, Burnside has to make some tough decisions.

Burnside is livid when gangland boss Dale Vickers leaves court a free man - thanks to witness intimidation. Burnside then has to move fast to get his informant Tony and his family into a safe house, now that his identity has been revealed - but how safe will they be? Meanwhile, Dave goes undercover in a risky and dangerous mission to ensnare Vickers, as he and his crime syndicate look to make a multi-million pound money-laundering deal with the Russian mafia.

Dave seems to have kept his cool, but Vickers is starting to have his suspicions about him as he starts to get jittery. The Russian money duly arrives at Vickers' country pad - and he has an imaginative way of storing it. As the final handover approaches, events take on an unexpected and dramatic turn - has Burnside overstepped the mark, or has he simply brought some desperate and uncomfortable truths out into the open.
