Auf Wiedersehen, Pet - Season 2 (1986)

When work at the Manor is stopped because it is a listed building, the hapless brickies decide to go to the local village, where they are treated with suspicion.

The magnificent seven are forced to camp out in Thornley Manor. Wayne is given the cold shoulder by the other lads and is forced to start thinking seriously about how to regain his popularity.

Plumber Harry Blackburn is mad about country and western music, and when he joins the boys Oz regales him with his tales of Nashville and Merle Haggard. The truth comes out about Dennis' debts and the lads all go on strike. Ally, annoyed to hear of this, sends in his toughest boys to sort them out. The eight builders of course, show them the road back to the North East.

Work at Thornley Manor is over and the lads take a break before leaving for Spain. Oz uses the opportunity to visit home and hits on the barmy idea of kidnapping his son, determined to prevent him from being taken overseas by wife Marjorie - but makes the mistake of roping Wayne in to help.

In a rare moment of tenderness, Oz makes an attempt to save his marriage and get to know his son. Wayne has marital worries as well, but Dennis seems to be getting on fine with girlfriend Christine.

The lads are impatient to be off to Spain, but just as they reach the departure lounge, things begin to go wrong. Posing as tourists, they find themselves sharing a plane with the Spennymoor and District Senior Citizens Society.

The lads move their holiday gear into the wrong Spanish villa and decide to go skinny-dipping in the swimming pool - much to the outrage of the real occupants, who arrive unexpectedly.

Two relentless tabloid reporters pursue the lads, convinced they are a pack of heavy-duty villains wanted back home for an audacious payroll robbery.

Ally's dodgy dealings take a turn for the worse, and Barry has difficulty controlling Hazel who seems to be suffering from an overdose of sun, sea and sangria - to say nothing of gambling fever.

Barry finally announces his long-awaited wedding to Hazel is definitely going ahead and Oz secretly embarks on a romance of his own. Needless to say, Ally is concocting another dodgy scheme in the background and, as he puts it into operation, the lads sail off over the horizon.
