Ten outdoor survivalists are challenged with surviving totally alone for as long as they can in Tasmania's wilderness in the middle of winter.

The contestants start to tap out of the competition, as they find out how tough a Tasmanian winter can be and the conditions prove too tough for some.

Three days into the competition in the Tasmanian wilderness, three participants have already left, and the rest are feeling the effects of going without food.

The participants reveal the sources of their strength as they battle hunger, the elements, and their own thoughts in the Tasmanian wilderness.

As hunger, fatigue and cold take their toll, the remaining participants are forced to question why they're enduring the toughest challenge of their lives. For one, the reasons for staying are ultimately outweighed by the reasons to leave.

Having survived the settling in period, the remaining participants are now focused on their own strategies, which they hope will see them outstay the others and win the $250K.

Food is becoming a critical issue for all participants. Some are yet to catch anything to eat and desperation is growing.

Survival in the Tasmanian wilderness is proving just one part of the challenge for participants. The emotional isolation is weighing heavily, and for one it proves too much.

Those that remain in the Tasmanian wilderness have no idea how many others are left, heightening the daily challenge - is the end a day away, or 6 months?

More than ever, the mind game is key for the remaining participants. They have no idea how many people are still in the competition, nor how much longer their opponents might hang on for. Each is hoping the end is just around the corner.
