1986 - Season 1 (2018)

Sérgio brings his father's precious camcorder to school, and in a few hours he makes a day-to-day documentary of the students, invents a new style of television, and creates a small - and potentially catastrophic - VHS industry. Eduardo discovers Alice, while her past returns to the wheel of a luxury car. Does the videoclub and the project of Sérgio bring Marta and Tiago closer? But can they ever be more than friends?

The big day arrives. Upon arrival at the pavilion, James realizes that the party organized by Marta will get him into work. Fortunately, in Carnival time, a toy store in the neighborhood may have the solution so that Tiago goes to the party without being recognized. Eduardo tries to counter loneliness by resorting to a look-alike by Olivia Newton John. And chaos happens.

Neither does his new ZX Spectrum games solve James's depression, although a hidden talent brings him closer to his arch-nemesis Goncalo. Sérgio finds a light at the end of the tunnel when he receives a response to the announcement he sent to the "Blessings and Statements" of the newspaper Blitz. Eduardo and Alice meet, by accident, in the Cinemateca, and a flame seems to light up.

Sérgio is about to meet the blonde of his life and drags Tiago to the Jukebox disco. In turn, Marta is also taken to the Lisbon night by the newly arrived Aunt Isabel, a revolutionary who comes to end the family harmony. And while Alice and Edward's will seem to be heading for a happy dawn, the same does not apply to the long, tumultuous night of the kids.

It's all grounded and 1986 becomes the John Hughes Breakfast Club movie: Tiago, Sérgio, Patricia, Marta and Gonçalo are forced to solve their differences by being locked in a classroom. There are confidences and revelations. But does this moment of understanding survive out there in the jungle of the school corridors?

Inspired by news in "Jornal do Incredible", the fertile imagination of Tiago, Sérgio and Patricia takes them on a (more or less) frightening adventure. Gonçalo fails consecutively in his approaches to Marta and the relationship between Fernando and Maria de Lourdes is proving less perfect than it seemed. In the midst of many misunderstandings, only James and Marta seem to make more and more sense together.

The romance between Sérgio and the (not very) mysterious blonde continues on the top of the school's wallet, the social network possible in the 80's, among scribbles and chewed tablets. Eduardo decides to tie the loose ends of his life - with Alice and his "rival" Fernando - but gets so entangled that he ends up seeing the great presidential debate between Freitas do Amaral and Mário Soares in the most unusual company. There is blood, there is sweat and there are tears.

The heart of James is worried about the arrival of Rita, the older sister of Patricia who lives in England and who has all the freedom and rebellion that Marta is missing. When the destinies of various characters converge to the same matinee of cinema, the cosmos gets out of hand - but Sergio and Patricia seem to fade that design.

On a day of reflection, Tiago is willing to reconquer Marta and Sérgio persuades him to compose a serenade on the computer. The task is difficult and it is necessary that the message reaches Marta but a failure of the "electricity company" causes a blackout that ends up illuminating hearts. On the brink of the big election day, will there be a happy ending in sight?

The future of the country is finally decided on election day. The adults are about to cross at the polling stations; the kids accompany us on this historic day. But everyone seems more concerned about their own future, between loves, dislikes, political disagreements and misunderstandings. Can Martha and James overcome their parents' differences and end up together?
