Singing guest Edie Gormé is lonesome because her husband Steve Lawrence was recently inducted into the Army, and can't get a Christmas furlough. Milton intervenes by going to Washington to fix it with his old friend, General Walter Pidgeon, whom he supposedly fought in World War One with.
