The Good Karma Hospital - Season 2 (2018)

An unusually hot spell brings dozens of heat stroke sufferers to the hospital. Ruby faces a double baptism by fire as she performs her first operation, triumphing over both Gabriel and the domineering father of her young patient as well as taking her first solo night shift. The latter is jeopardized by a power cut caused by a thunder storm, requiring emergency surgery which ultimately gains Lydia's approval and an admission from Gabriel.

Lydia is outraged to find that her former colleague Anila is now operating as a herbal remedist, poaching her patients. Lydia is particularly concerned for bus driver Reyna, especially when her intervention costs Reyna her job, and decides to put things right. Ruby involves Gabriel in discovering why a young boy is stealing from the hospital and they are both caught up with English tourist Sean's problems.

Ruby sets up an outreach clinic at a distant tea plantation, accompanied by a reluctant Gabriel. However her true motive is to locate her uncle Amir to ask why her father walked out on her and her mother. Answers become clearer thanks to Gabriel, thawing their relationship but another admission comes as a terrible shock to her. Back at the hospital Lydia is concerned for Neelam Sagar, suffering domestic violence from her policeman husband Sanjay but when Sanjay is viciously attacked Lydia is presented with a dilemma.
