Friends Erik, Mikael and Benny grow up in a chain house area in the late 1970s. Their families hang out, but behind the facades hide pain, grief and shame. As an adult, Mikael is forced to continue to handle her big brother who tormented the family with their abuse during adolescence. Benny becomes a playwright and uses the events while growing up in his plays. And now he targets the spotlight to his own family. Erik's grandfather left Estonia for studies in Sweden during the 30's. And when Erik now forms a family, the interest in his Jewish background is aroused.
