The Biggest Loser - Season 9 (2010)

This week starts off with a high-stakes pop challenge in which contestants race for the prize of immunity - and the winning team also gets three envelopes to give to the teams of their choice with instructions that could have a dramatic impact at this week's weigh in. Also, tensions are high between the trainers and one team suspected of game play, and a lifting competition rewards the winning team with a prize that everyone wants.

At the last weigh-in, Migdalia was voted off campus. The campus is not only down one contestant but two as one is sent to hospital temporarily on a medical issue. But two others ultimately return to campus as the at home challenge given to Victoria and Cherita and Sunshine and O'Neal, which the on-campus contestants did not know about, comes to an end and the four return to campus to weigh-in. Before doing so, they go through what Bob calls the Biggest Loser rite of passage: a last chance workout. The returning team is told that they will receive immunity for the week...

Having the lowest percentage of weight loss as a team and being a single member team, John, without deliberation, was sent home after the latest weigh-in. Koli is having doubts about himself being on campus, especially as John, who he feels is more deserving, is no longer there. The contestants learn that for this week, they will now be weighing in as individuals as opposed to teams, two contestants will be sent home (the one with the lowest percentage of weight loss, plus one of the next two who will be voted home), and in the spirit of the upcoming 2010 Winter ...

After the latest weigh-in, Melissa leaves the campus as the person who fell below the red line. Cheryl and Darrell, the two contestants who fell below the yellow line, complete their one-on-one challenge to see who goes home and who stays. Following, the remaining contestants, who were only last week told they were playing now as individuals, now learn that they will now be placed on teams, however not their original couple partnership, but a blue team trained by Bob, and a black team trained by Jillian. After the latest weigh-in, Miggy was voted off campus. O'Neal, replacing Miggy on the blue team, was afraid that SunShine was the contestant voted off. Starting from last week, the teams continue their David vs. Goliath mentality, the black team being David, the blue team being Michael-stacked Goliath which nonetheless lost the previous weigh-in. The contestants immediately learn their reward challenge for the week: pulling a 33,000 pound semi-trailer truck and putting together a puzzle at the finish line. This week, the blue team squares off against the black team in a food trivia pop challenge that will send the winning team via limo to a day of pampering and luxury while the losing team has to stay behind and clean up the kitchen and the gym! Then popular chef Curtis Stone stops by to help host Alison Sweeney judge a food cook-off challenge. Each team has 30 minutes to make an appetizer, entrée and dessert using only 12 ingredients, and the team who wins the taste test gets a big advantage at this week's weigh in. All the contestants who have previously been voted off campus, with the exception of Migdalia who is dealing with a personal issue at home, are back, one of whom will be invited back on campus, that person to be chosen purely by vote of the on-campus contestants. The competition heats up when the players learn that whoever loses 2% of their body weight first this week gets immunity. The catch is that only one person gets immunity and they only get one shot to weigh in whenever they think they've reached that goal. Later, the players head to the pool for a swimming challenge involving weights. After each contestant finishes the race, they are allowed to go back and help others finish, which proves very revealing about who the players want to stay in the game -- and who they don't.

Melissa was voted off campus at the latest weigh-in. The remaining contestants learn this week about the value of money in relation to their weight. They have a pop challenge of balancing quarters on a tray, the last contestant standing to receive forty times the amount of money on their tray. The winner and runner-up of the challenge later learn of a bonus. In a temptation challenge, the contestants are forced to eat all their meals alone for one day in a room filled with both healthy foods, and unhealthy foods. The person who eats the most calories will have the only vote at this week's weigh-in, except if that person falls below the yellow line. In that case, the vote will occur as usual. They act as motivators for those participating in a five kilometer walk/run starting and ending at the Cotton Bowl. SunShine is still adjusting to the fact of O'Neal no longer being on campus, he who was voted off after the latest weigh-in. That leaves Sam and Koli as the only remaining couple among the six contestants still on campus. Those six have made it to makeover week. Each is given $1,000 to shop for clothing.
