The network wants to introduce a dog and a baby to the show. Doug resists and gets fired. Tracy agrees to go on a pity date with Doug to cheer him up.

During a tax audit, Joyce and John discover they aren't really divorced. Tracy writes a script for the show that isn't flattering for Joyce.

Joyce and John deal with the aftermath of finding out they are still married.

Mitzi becomes envious of Joyce's success so she decides to move out and get her own place.

To increase the ratings, the studio wants to kill off Fletcher's character.

John's mother comes for a visit, unaware of the divorce.

Joyce decides to fix up Doug and Mitzi.

Joyce starts to date a race car driver. Wedding bells are soon heard. However, is it a scam to get into show business?

Fletcher and his wife are overstaying their welcome at Joyce's place while their house is being repainted.

An old flame, Connie, comes to visit John. She starts driving him nuts. He enlists Joyce to help break up the couple.

Rumors are going around that the show is going to be canceled. The show hires a female stunt woman for Tracy. Joyce tries to throw a party for the network execs to save the show.
