SOKO Wismar - Season 3 (2006)

Despite extraordinary private security measures, Norbert Wotenitz was fatally stabbed in his homestead and buried alive in his garden. His neighbor, 'crazy' artistic painter Schildberg, is equally paranoid and describes in detail a man who dropped by: Vietje Kloster, a just-escaped, cancer-terminal armored car robbery culprit, whose two cahoots were never caught. Vietje is around, but Sven duly suspects more convoluted motives, as another violent crime confirms.

Wismar's football team FC Hanseat's star player Kevin Kobow died on the field from internal bleeding, resulting from a savage beating. Natural suspects are the neighboring rival team "FC Eisern", except he just signed up with them to earn cash for his baby with their club president Heinz Roth's daughter Wencke. Focus shifts to their present top-scorer Krille Jablonski, also Wencke's previous lover, and coach Holger Kampf. Kevin's Hanseat buddies Jan Meldau and Pepe Passlack hide having known about his 'desertion to the enemy'.

During another pub evening with his regular 'skat' (cards game) buddies, plumber Hans Dolei is killed on the toilet by a gas explosion. Forensics rule it's not the stinky gas from the passing canal, but willfully induced from outside. Prime suspect Olli Roschinski, his former apprentice, got deep in debt to buy a minority tontine share in Dolei's firm, which he now inherits. The team also turns to the third player and the ailing outdated pub, which wasn't insured. Then an armed episode claims a second life in a convoluted desperate ploy.

Stripes Hinzmann and Leena check on an abandoned truck in the forest, finding a blood trail presumed from the driver fitting stains inside. Forensics concludes a shooting, without trace of victim or killer. Trucker Gerd Paelke was popular in the firm. Boss Fred Tillack's son Torsten, Paelke's sister Yvonne's boyfriend to his stuck-up bossy mother's frustration, has a past in illegal waste disposal, which Paelke's expensive lifestyle suggests he got implicated in as well. The team looks into everyone and gets a crucial, grim clue from the trucking firm's friendly guard...

On the stud farm managed by Jens Holling for ever-absent Hamburg entrepreneur Faustner, a horse was fatally stabbed with re-tractor hook. A note on Jens's car threatens he's next. On a free boat trip for seniors to flog off cooking utensils, slick sales animator Peter Ohlsen is electrocuted down deck. Passenger Max Fuhrmann recently threatened Ohlsen, claiming his pushiness triggered his wife's fatal cardiac crisis. Captain-owner Max Banse hated Ohlsen's aggressive sales methods but needs the income. Max's wife Eva Banse hides an affair, the crew technician probably tampered.

At the grand opening of the new spa-wellness resort in Erik Klemmer luxury hotel, event manager Angelika Brücher is fatally electrocuted. Till then, Klemmer ignored threat letters, which his wife Marion secretly kept and now hand to the team. Erik is a serial adulterer, who made husband enemies. Simon Willem anxiously reports his half-sister missing, then identifies er in tears: Laura Willem, a budding actress, whose theater coach is prime suspect. Laura's mother Steffi Willem is shattered, stepfather businessman Carl Willem barely affected, and turns on 'whimp' Simon, who helped her with environmental campaigning while working for Carl's targeted firm, as turns out both men were deeply involved.
