A Florentine, named Collignon, is married to Lucrece, a young, pretty and honest woman. Their happiness would be total if they could have a child. But, unfortunately, nature is shirking. He is waiting in vain. He meets a young man, Callimaque, who he tells his misfortune. Callimachus is introduced to the wife and he finds quite to his taste and begins to seduce her.
