Script to Screen - Season 6 (2017)

UCSB Script to Screen was invited to the 2017 Writers Guild Awards and 2017 WGA Beyond Words. The interviews include many Oscar nominees. Script to Screen is hosted by the Pollock Theater Director, Matt Ryan, and co-produced by the Pollock Theater student staff. The HBO one-hour drama series "Westworld" is a dark odyssey about the dawn of artificial consciousness and the evolution of sin. Set at the intersection of the near future and the reimagined past, it explores a world in which every human appetite, no matter how noble or depraved, can be indulged. Kelly Fremon Craig made her directorial debut in 2016 with The Edge of Seventeen. The film received widespread critical praise and numerous accolades, including a Golden Globe nomination for the film's lead actress, Hailee Steinfeld, a Directors Guild of America nomination for Outstanding Achievement of a First Time Filmmaker, the New York Film Critics Circle Award for Best First Film, and three Critics Choice Awards nominations.

Actress/Producer Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Writer/Executive Producer/Director David Mandel and Actor Tony Hale talk about realizing the HBO series Veep - an American political satire. Script to Screen is hosted by the Pollock Theater Director, Matt Ryan, and co-produced by the Pollock Theater student staff. Academy Award Winning Production Designers David Wasco and Sandy Reynolds-Wasco have colloborated with some of the most talented filmmakers today, most recently, Damien Chazelle on La La Land. The film received the Academy Award for Best Achievement in Production Design, the Art Directors Guild Award for Excellence in Production Design and a BAFTA nomination for Best Production Design.
