During a session with Denise, Carlo delves into their family past. When their mother falls ill, he discovers there are two sides to the story and that the source of the sisters' money may also be the source of their distress.

Moninha appears to be a well-balanced teenage girl. Although her biological father left when she was a child this does not appear to have left any trauma. While in the search for a more meaningful life decides to convert to Islam.

Carlo encourages Moninha to create her own adventures but he has no idea she is thinking of abandoning everything and going to Syria to join the Islamic State.

Arturo is an accountant. He counts everything, including his own footsteps, as he suffers from OCD. During therapy with Carlo, they analyze what sets off this process, which might reveal a dark path.

Arturo approaches Lucia, the former secretary of his recently deceased father. Their relationship strengthens but on the eve of the wedding, Arturo makes a disturbing discovery which leaves him full of guilt.

Marie and Mark, Carlo Antonini's son, have returned to Brazil, where they plan to get married shortly. What Carlo does not know is that for some time Marie has been having hallucinations. Marie suffers a major attack of stage fright.

Carlo opts for intensive treatment and has her admitted to a clinic. With his help, she is able to face up to the past of previous generations of her Jewish family.
