Swedish farm boy Nils Holgersson drives his father to despair, constantly messing up his yard chores by neglect, wandering off and worse. Not superstitious, he steals the sugared bread his mother left for the kobold, but there really is one, whose raven helper the rascal just abused, and he risks the wrath of his king by miniaturizing the rascal.
