House of Five Leaves - Season 1 (2010)

Masanosuke moves into the brothel where Yaichi lives, glad to have a roof above his head and hoping to learn something about the elusive gang leader.

Suffering from "Edo disease," Masanosuke travels to the countryside to recuperate, where he learns about Umezo's history with the Five Leaves.

While Masanosuke is still recovering from his illness, the Five Leaves are put under pressure.

Masanosuke is challenged to a duel, and finds that he still can't bring himself to fight.

Five Leaves member Matsukichi sets off on his own to help out a friend in need.

After rescuing Matsukichi, Masanosuke is visited in Edo by his little sister.

Yaichi's behavior becomes increasingly erratic, to the frustration of the other Leaves. Yagi shows Masanosuke a glimpse of his past.

As Masanosuke pries deeper into the past, Yaichi's motives for his kidnapping slowly become clear.

Yagi invites Yaichi to have a drink and talk about the past they share.
