Hot in Cleveland - Season 5 (2014)

Victoria discovers Emmet has faked his own death, so she decides to fake hers and join him. Melanie is upset by one of Mike's actions in bed.

On the eve of Victoria's big movie premiere, Emmy (Jennifer Love Hewitt) visits with some surprising news while Elka announces she's taken a younger lover (Chris Elliott).

Victoria wants to be nominated for an Oscar and gets her friends to convince Academy members to nominate her. Melanie's assigned a teen idol (Jason Priestly); Joy's given an indie darling (Sarah Hyland). Elka reunites with Roy.

When the women try to adopt a puppy, the Rescue Center's volunteer, Doug (Max Greenfield), determines if they are dog-worthy. Elka's relationships with Mamie (Georgia Engel) and Roy (John Mahoney) take an interesting turn.

Melanie uses her illness to get tickets to country star Chase Jackson's (Chris Isaak) sold-out concert, while her friends also cash in on her "tumor perks." Vicotoria's new online suitor may not be the man he says he is.

The dog, George Clooney, appears depressed. Melanie scores a new job as a result of a radio station follow-up interview of the dog's at-home treatment the previous week.

The ladies fly to NYC. Victoria wants to come clean to Maddie Banks for not telling her about an audition call back for 'Sofia's Choice' when they were roommates years earlier; Melanie, Joy and Elka cross things off their bucket lists.

Lines get blurred when Joy and Bob (Dave Foley) go undercover as a couple and Elka (Betty White) gets a political rival (Bill Bellamy).

The women fly to Los Angeles to watch Victoria announce the Oscar nominations. Elka gets campaign advice from a statistics expert, Victoria has nerves over the unknown, and Joy meets the man she's going to marry.

Joy is hiding her feelings for Mitch; Melanie is pushed into a date with Ross Barkley to help Elka and Victoria.

During a major storm the ladies are stuck in the house with some unwanted guest; Elka thinks a ghost of a woman murdered 50 years ago has returned to seek revenge; Joy's Mother visits with her new boyfriend someone for her past.

Elka decides to write and direct a play about their life in Cleveland and the ladies are surprised and upset on how they are portrayed.

Joy decides to finally tell Mitch (Tim Daly) how she feels but a handsome dating coach gets in the way (Coby Bell). Victoria is surprisingly taken with a very Clevelandy screenwriter (Dan Lauria).

Victoria's son visits while Joy and Mitch try to figure out their compatibility.

Our ladies go 2-D in a fun-filled animated episode that involves questionable beauty treatments, zombies, and a look at Cleveland had LeBron never left.

Melanie rekindles a relationship with Donald and discovers he's coaching Elka's political opponent for the debate. Things heat up between Victoria and J.J. but he has the jitters because the only women he has slept with was his late wife.

Melanie feels replaced when the ladies go to her radio co-host for advice, and Victoria meets J.J.'s family.

Victoria must pick between Melanie and Joy on who will be her "plus one" for the Oscars, forcing the two to compete and grovel for her affections.

Tensions are high in Cleveland: Victoria is up for an Academy Award, Elka is up for City Council election, and Melanie gets a visit from her mother (Debra Monk).

Just when Joy is happy in her relationship with Mitch, Simon sneaks back into her life. Meanwhile, Elka gets carried away with some new-found power.

The annual birthdates episode. Every year, the ladies celebrate their collective birthday by fixing each other up on blind dates. This time it ends with more than one proposal.
