Ziggy warns Ben what's going on. Tori tells Jasmine that her raw carrot trick works. John is frustrated at not being able to do things at the hospital and at Marilyn fussing over him. Alf tells her to ask herself why she's doing it and Ben visits him. Tori brings John some solid food but when Marilyn tries to help him with it he breaks down at the loss of dignity.

Ziggy and Jasmine meet for dinner at Salt. Justin points out to Tori that John won't flourish indoors so she uses her day off to take him and Marilyn for a picnic. Jasmine is left looking after Grace and posts a photo of them on the forum, saying Grace is hers. Leah returns to work at the Diner. Maggie does a farewell tour of the Bay but, after a chat with Alf, Ben stops her car as she is leaving town and tells her he thinks they can fix things.

Ben takes Maggie's car keys and Ziggy, Justin and Leah get them talking. Ben admits he still can't forgive her but asks for one more night. Jasmine takes one of Grace's socks and later asks Tori about using her in a photo campaign for mother and baby yoga. She posts a photo of herself at the gym on the forum but is worried when one of the other mums recognises it. Alf visits Marilyn and tries to question her about what she intends to happen if John recovers. Ben goes round to see Maggie and tells her he can't understand why she chose Marco.

Ziggy explains to Dean what's going on with her parents. Ben and Maggie struggle to come to a decision. John arrives home, although things are slightly awkward between him and Marilyn, and Alf pops round to check on him. Jasmine has Willow take photos of her with Grace for the yoga class. Melissa, another mother from the forum, turns up with her baby Tyler. Jasmine says her husband's an undercover cop and no-one else can know she's there, also downplaying it to Willow. Dean takes Ziggy to a remote spot and gives her a necklace as a first anniversary present. Ziggy ...

Justin asks Colby if there's been any progress in the Diner robbery. Colby later tells Dean that he's checked Ari and Tane's history and thinks they were involved. Ziggy puts off going to see Ben and Maggie but Dean convinces her to bite the bullet and they tell her they're getting back together. Evan gives Ryder guitar lessons but his condition is getting worse and he decides to leave town the next day. He asks Roo to help him make Ryder understand.

Colby is unhappy to see Ari and Mackenzie together on the beach. Mackenzie later tells him she's cleared her debt with Rick. Ryder tries to avoid Evan but Alf tells him to accept Even has a right to decide how to die. Roo is taking Martha to the city so she can go back to Merimbula for an art show and she and Ryder agree she'll stay with Evan. Nikau is still worried about the police and Tane gets him to talk to Bella about the investigation. Colby turns up at the house and, on seeing Ari's hoodie, decides to organise a search warrant.

Gemma, Mackenzie and Bella realise they can't get hold of Ari, Nikau or Tane. Gemma and Mackenzie go to the house and find Colby's search in progress. Mackenzie announces Ari was in bed with her at the time of the robbery but Colby doesn't file her statement when Justin notes she was at Salt at the time and Ari arrived later. John and Marilyn are struggling to put up with each other and Alf suggests John have dinner with him. Bella tells an increasingly stressed Nikau about Ari's alibi collapsing and that Colby wants to put the Paratas in a line-up for Leah. Nikau ...

Colby tells Leah and Justin about the line-up and tells Ari he wants the Paratas taking part. Justin and Colby rush to the station where Tori and Marilyn have told Murray about the car theft and Grace's kidnapping. Nikau finally realises Grace is in the car and calls Tane, who tells him to wipe the car down and abandon it while leaving Grace outside the Morgans', where she is quickly found. Gemma tells Marilyn it's nearly a year since Mikaere died and his family want his ashes returned home. Colby takes Nikau and Tane in for questioning.

Bella and Mackenzie compare notes on Colby and the Paratas. Nikau refuses to say anything when Colby questions him and, after consulting with a lawyer, Tane takes him away, saying they're under no obligation to be questioned, fingerprinted or take part in the line-up. Gemma tells Ari, Nikau and Tane of her plan to take Mikaere's ashes home and they all agree. Bella visits Nikau, spending the night lying next to him. Jasmine rushes round to the Morgans' on hearing about Grace but Justin gets her to leave when she starts criticising Tori. After drumming up support ...

Willow runs into Dean and Ziggy on the beach before Mackenzie calls her for help with an increasingly ranting Jasmine. Jasmine starts a thread on the forum asking for help in proving a baby is in danger. Leah stops Jasmine going to see Grace. Willow finds Jasmine's post and encourages her to channel her feelings with writing but instead she starts making a list of Tori's family's supposed offences. Ryder asks to go back to work to take his mind off things and Mackenzie inadvertently upsets him by celebrating getting Rick out of her life. Ben convinces Maggie to ...

Willow compares notes with Ziggy on how things are going with Dean. Ben suggests to Maggie that they move to Italy but neither Ziggy nor Coco is willing to go with them. Ben and Maggie are reluctant to live so far away from the girls but feel they're not able to go on living in a town where everyone knows what happened. Ryder is fretting at the lack of news so Alf arranges a phone call from Roo and Evan. John and Marilyn are short with each other, not even being able to keep up the act in front of Alf. Marilyn walks out after an argument and tells Alf she's not sure ...

Alf reassures Marilyn who explains she and John argue about every small thing. Maggie is still reluctant to leave the country without the girls but after Ben has a chat with John he convinces her that all that matters is they love each other. Colby sees Ari down the beach when he'd normally be at work and Alf tells him the Paratas are going to New Zealand. Gemma is allowed through security with Mikaere's ashes but Tane, Ari and Nikau are all stopped after an alert is put on their passports and sent home. Tane convinces Gemma to go on but there is no way for the men to...

Bella and Mackenzie discuss the fact they haven't heard from Ari or Nikau while Colby surfs. Nikau has shut himself away in his room. Ari tells Bella and Mackenzie what happened and Bella goes to visit Nikau, with all of them trying to think of a way to say goodbye to Mikaere. Tane discovers he doesn't have enough money for the rent and Colby sees him and Ari arguing about it. Ben and Maggie book a cheap flight but it means travelling to Cairns tomorrow. Ziggy is shocked but helps them pack up and they suggest she and Dean move into the farm house. Ari, Nikau and Tane...

Ari tries to convince Tane to get a job, causing an argument that leads Mackenzie to play peacemaker. Tane apparently agrees with Ari, but after an encounter with Mackenzie during the night, he packs his bags and leaves after Ari has got him a job on the site. Alf and Leah plan a farewell for Ben and Maggie while Dean and Ziggy decide against moving to the farm. Ben offers to give the board shop to Dean, who after some consideration accepts. Ben and Maggie have just finished the packing when Alf invites them to the lunch he, Leah and Justin are organising. Ziggy and Dean spend the day sniping at each other and Marilyn puts John off the lunch by saying it would be too hard to get him there. However, Justin and Ben bring him anyway and both Alf and Ben make speeches before Ben and Maggie drive out of town. Ziggy gives the wedding album to Justin after removing the photos she wants and tells Dean she'll start divorce proceedings. Jasmine sees Leah and Justin leaving Grace with Tori after a night shift and fails to convince her to let her mind Tori. Ryder realises Alf is missing Martha's art show to keep an eye on him and convinces him to go. John forces Marilyn to admit she doesn't love him. Irene offers Marilyn a shoulder to cry on and they find John making his own arrangements. Willow and Jasmine fill Irene in on Grace's kidnapping and the Diner robbery. Tori is shocked to see the photos of Jasmine and Grace advertising the gym but Jasmine dismisses it as a misunderstanding. Tori realises ...

Colby sends Bella to get pizzas when Tori turns up. Bella ends up buying one for Nikau, who is mostly fending for himself with Ari working overtime and Gemma and Tane gone. Next day, she has to accompany him to the Diner to get the key to the bait shop from Marilyn where he finally accepts the whole town isn't against his family. Afterwards, they kiss. Irene suggests Marilyn get some home help for John. Colby asks Jasmine to take the photos down but she loses it at Justin and Tori and ends up scratching Colby's face. Willow shows Colby the forum where Jasmine has been...

Colby advises Tori to take Grace home while they deal with Jasmine. However, Jasmine feels Colby, Willow and Irene have all betrayed her. She turns up at Tori's house insisting she needs to speak to her, with Justin ending up having to call Colby to escort her from the premises. Colby learns Bella and Nikau are spending time together again and reminds her of what happened last time. Bella has dinner at Nikau's house but leaves quickly and Colby and Nikau end up clashing. Jasmine bombards Tori with texts during the night and Tori decides she needs to take out an AVO.

Ari and Mackenzie frolic on the beach before he discovers they have twenty-four hours to pay the rent. Mackenzie offers to help out but he refuses. Nikau asks him for advice about Bella who eventually explains she wants to take things slow. Ari finds someone has paid the rent and accuses Mackenzie. Tori visits Jasmine and offers her a mental health care plan but Jasmine feels betrayed when Colby presents her with the AVO. She storms round to give Tori a serve and Irene finds she has gone.

Mackenzie makes it clear to Ari she didn't pay the rent and he finds out who was responsible when Tane turns up with a wad of dodgy money. Irene and Willow worry about Jasmine's disappearance but Justin is pleased she's not bothering Tori and Grace anymore, until a night on the couch gives him perspective. Irene gets a call from Wendy saying Jasmine's with them.Marilyn talks to Leah about John rejecting all the prospective carers. Mackenzie offers Tane a job.

Mackenzie interviews Tane for the job but he has no experience and doesn't want charity. Ziggy and Dean see them arguing and Mackenzie admits to Dean that she finds Tane attractive. Tane later changes his mind and takes the job. John and Marilyn meet his latest carer, the brusque and no-nonsense Amber who sends Marilyn away and insists John make more of an effort. However, when she suggests things will get back to how they are with Marilyn if he manages his recovery, he fires her. She later turns up at Salt where she recognises Dean and tells him to take her to bed.

Ziggy is waylaid by Leah but still walks in on Dean and Amber; Dean has hooked up with Amber in the past but informs her he has a girlfriend. He tries to contact Colby but the latter runs into Amber on the beach and is punched by her: She is the sister of Jai, who he left to die after a car crash. Colby tells Ryder to keep it secret but he ends up blurting it out to Bella. Amber turns up at John's and announces she's unfiring herself, sending Leah away when she comes to check up for Marilyn. John learns her history from Mangrove River after accompanying her to the gym...

Willow is delighted to run into Amber but Amber is awkward about sleeping with Dean. Colby, Willow, Dean and Ziggy compare notes on Amber's appearance. John pretends to have lost his phone so Amber will go to the gym but Amber is unhappy to find Willow is still friends with Colby. Marilyn talks to Leah about Amber and frets about having nothing to do now she is looking after John and the house. Colby tells Amber not to blame Willow and Dean so she takes Willow out drinking.

Mackenzie and Ari remind Tane of his first day at Salt. Willow and Amber are both drinking heavily and, after seeing their drunken photos, Ziggy and Dean join them, eventually getting Willow back to the flat. Nikau invites Bella round his to celebrate her first day at TAFE but they are interrupted by Tane, who abandoned his shift in order to sleep with Amber. Mackenzie is uncomfortable when she runs into Tane the next day.

Ryder runs into Bella and Nikau. After Tane and Ari tease him about making Bella soup, Nikau asks Ryder for advice on a perfect date. Ryder sets him up with a fancy picnic and romantic boat trip but both Nikau and Bella admit it isn't their thing and push Ryder in the water when he fails to take responsibility. Irene continues to worry about Jasmine. Leah gets Justin to ask Tori to look into her work situation and he reports she's on indefinite compassionate leave. Mackenzie is short with Tane, prompting Bella to suspect she's jealous. She eventually loosens up but ...

Tori asks Colby if there's been any news from Jasmine, who is throwing herself into work at the farm and talking about moving there while not telling Ian and Wendy anything. Ian calls Colby but only learns that there's a problem with Tori over Grace. Tori wants to go there but is eventually convinced to let Irene and Colby go. Ryder is upset by the news of Evan's death but rallies, while Marilyn helps out at the Diner to avoid going home. Jasmine is furious when Irene and Colby turn up, saying she went there to get away from them.

Justin and Tori struggle to work out how to spend their day off. Jasmine continues to be hostile towards Irene and Colby, who fill in Ian and Wendy. The Shaws convince her she needs to sort things with Tori or they'll never see Grace. She returns to Summer Bay where Colby has Justin and Tori waiting to talk to her. Roo talks to both John and Marilyn, who find it difficult living together after their split. John spends Amber's day off home alone and has a minor fall but still tells Marilyn he wants her to move out.

Neither Irene nor Jasmine is impressed with Colby having Tori and Justin ambush her and swiftly leaves. The next day, Marilyn confides in Roo about John wanting her to move out. Irene and Leah send her home from work and she struggles to find a place to stay. Alf returns home and asks Roo about Ryder. Colby convinces Jasmine to meet with Tori, but Jasmine is unwilling to get help without seeing Grace and is left more convinced than ever that she needs to leave town. Justin tells Tori she needs to leave it alone.

Tori tries to ask Willow about Jasmine but she knows nothing. Ryder tells Alf and Roo that he isn't going to Evan's funeral. Marilyn uses the fact that John can't be left on his own to avoid moving out, but when Amber gets John a watch phone that will allow him to call people if he has a fall, she is left with no choice but to move to a motel. A showdown between Willow and Jasmine leads to Jasmine agreeing to see a counsellor and Tori agreeing to supervised access to Grace, but Willow remains unhappy that Jasmine is undecided about selling the gym. Willow and Amber head out to a club and end up inviting Ziggy and Mackenzie to join them. Tane is also there and ends up in a fight with a guy who got too fresh with Amber. Mackenzie gets into an argument with Amber about it and Amber ends up accidentally punching Ziggy. Ryder snaps at Justin and admits to Alf that he's worried he won't know anyone at the funeral. After they have spent the night talking about it, Ryder decides to accompany Alf and Roo to the funeral. Amber realises Mackenzie fancies Tane. Mackenzie tells Ziggy she's on top of it but then finds Tane ...

Bella and Nikau spend time together. He avoids going to her flat so as not to run into Colby but she eventually convinces him he's busy at work. Ziggy tells Dean about the altercation between Mackenzie and Amber but Mackenzie refuses to discuss it and tries to send Tane home from work. Ari is increasingly suspicious and overhears Mackenzie and Tane talking about the fight. He asks Mackenzie if she wants to tell him anything and she says yes.

Ari realises that Mackenzie is attracted to Tane and orders her out. Mackenzie later goes to see Ari and tells him she wants a serious relationship, which he agrees to. Alf returns from the funeral, leaving Roo and Ryder attending a tribute gig. When Marilyn is evasive, Alf and Justin go to see John and learn she has moved out. Alf takes her to stay at his place. Colby makes Nikau feel uncomfortable when he returns home, but after a talk with Dean and a lecture from Bella, he accepts he cares about Bella and they make their peace. The police discover Ross' body.

Amber and Willow return from another night out. Ziggy gets her divorce certificate and suggests she and Dean do the surf comps after all. Marilyn is feeling uncomfortable staying with Alf but clears the air with John. Amber continues to avoid Colby but after Bella pleads his case, she accepts that hating him won't bring Jai back. Colby invites her to Ziggy's divorce party but he and Bella are called to the station by Sergeant Cooper, who tells them Ross' body has been found and a murder investigation has been launched.

Ziggy is sent to get food while Colby, Dean, Willow and Bella compare notes on Ross' death. Ziggy fills Ari, Mackenzie and Amber in on what's happened. Dean is worried he left evidence at the site while Bella wants to run away but Colby insists they need to stick around and act normal. Tane spends the night with Amber after his shift. Mackenzie challenges Colby to find a date for them while Tane reacts badly when Nikau works out that he likes Mackenzie.

Ari flounders over what to do with Mackenzie and eventually settles for taking her fishing, only to learn she is well practised from accompanying Rick on his trips. She catches a large fish and, with Nikau's help, summons it to Salt and has it prepared as an elaborate dinner. Nikau talks Tane out of leaving town to avoid the couple. Roo and Ryder return and Marilyn uses it as an excuse to get out of the house and take over the Diner from Leah. Next morning, Leah finds her upset and she admits she feels like she doesn't have a home.

Irene and Tori gives Jasmine encouragement before her first counselling session. Jasmine is initially only interested in getting to see Grace again but the counsellor, Peta, gets her to open up about her feelings about Robbo leaving her. When Irene realises it's a year since Jasmine and Robbo were married, Tori invites her to spend time with her and Grace. Marilyn continues to avoid Alf and Roo but Alf eventually tracks her down and insists she's family too. Alf runs into Angelo, who reveals he's back in the police and investigating Ross' murder.

Colby runs into Ryder on the beach and dodges his questions about Ross' murder. Bella has a series of uncomfortable encounters with Angelo, Ryder and Irene, while Angelo takes Colby for a drink and says he wants to talk to him and Dean. Alf spends the day doing surf club business with John, who is soon back to his old cantankerous self. After spending the afternoon with Tori and Grace, Jasmine gives Tori the album of photos of her and Grace. Colby goes to the police station to meet Angelo.

Ryder and Nikau both try to keep Bella's spirits up. Jasmine tells Irene that Tori hasn't spoken to her since she gave her the photo album. She is unhappy that Willow keeps leaving work to check on Colby and Dean but Irene defends her. Colby repeats his previous statement to Angelo but becomes rattled when Angelo asks him about his childhood, insisting Ross isn't a victim. Dean also sticks to the story under interrogation. Bella panics when she hears Angelo wants to talk to her and Willow as well.

Ryder and Nikau wonder about Bella's odd behaviour. Colby tries to drill Bella over what to say in the interview but just makes her upset and is forced to accept that she can't stay unemotional. Bella overhears him telling Dean that he'll take the blame if she messes up. Tori recoils when Jasmine approaches her and Grace but later smooths things over and Jasmine also clears the air with Willow at the second attempt. Bella approaches Nikau next morning and tells him he can't say anything.

Ziggy checks in on Colby and Dean as they worry about the interview. Bella tells Nikau that Colby killed Ross and decides she needs to leave town before she gives something away to the police, telling Colby she's going to the police station on her own. Leah and Justin return to town but Justin is forgetful, not understanding a reference Ziggy makes at the garage and not collecting Grace from Tori. Alf is planning to visit Martha but Nikau fails to turn up for work. Ziggy convinces Dean to go to a surf comp with her. Nikau steals some of Tane's money and tells Bella ...

Colby and Dean tell Willow what's going on. Dean goes to see Ari and Tane and they realise Nikau is missing as well. Colby reluctantly agrees to work with the Paratas and uses his police contacts to work out that Bella and Nikau took a flight to Mount Currawong. He stalls with Angelo, who gives him 72 hours before he issues a warrant for Bella's arrest. Since Colby leaving will be suspicious, Dean, Ari and Tane decide to fly out there. Amber fills in Dean who tells Ari and Tane he is staying behind. Mackenzie goes with them instead. Bella and Nikau have bought an old ute and driven out into the bush but Nikau is given pause when he sees how many messages he has from his uncles. Ari, Tane and Mackenzie get an update from Dale the camp manager. Roo thinks she sees Evan in Salt and Marilyn suggests it was his ghost. Colby has another run-in with Angelo and nearly comes to blows with Dean on learning he's still in town. Dean confides in Willow, who talks to Amber about her son Jai, but it isn't until ...

Bella and Nikau decide to camp out at night and end up sleeping together, while Ari, Tane and Mackenzie continue searching for them. Next morning, the youngsters find their car battery is flat and Nikau insists on going to find help. Roo tells Alf and Marilyn she's seen Evan again and Marilyn continues to wonder if it's his spirit. Colby and Willow support Dean over the discovery he has a son, while Ziggy runs into Amber who says she's not going to stop Dean seeing him. With Ziggy's blessing, Dean meets Amber and says he wants to meet Jai.

Ari, Tane and Mackenzie find Nikau and get him to lead him to where he left Bella but she isn't there and a search of the road doesn't find her. Amber agrees to Dean meeting Jai but doesn't want him to know he's his father yet. They spend time together and get along but Ziggy is concerned about the set-up. Roo sees Evan's ghost again and agrees to Marilyn doing a seance to find him. They fail to make contact, but at the same time Alf and Ryder meet Owen, who looks like Evan, at the surf club and show him the resemblance. They take him back to Roo and Marilyn.

Leah spends time with Justin at the garage; he continues to have back pains and be clumsy, burning his hand. Owen nearly leaves under the intensity of Alf, Marilyn, Roo and Ryder's questioning. Ryder wonders if he could be Evan's twin brother and tells him of Evan's death. Owen decides to stick around to find out; Roo is uncomfortable around him but Alf gives him a caravan. Alf's antacid treatment means his injuries aren't too severe but Tori worries about his back pains, black-out and loss of feeling to the feet and orders an MRI for the morning. Ari, Nikau, Tane and Mackenzie have searched for Bella without success. Nikau leaves her a phone message acting as though he thinks she left because of them sleeping together. She meets the group at the camp site but is unhappy about being tricked. Tori tells Justin that the scans show a tumour made up of enlarged blood vessels is pressing on his spine. Surgery is the only option but could leave him paralysed. Although Leah and Tori disagree, Justin decides not to have surgery. Colby continues to charm Taylor, taking her to the gym. Angelo is about to issue a warrant ...

Ari, Nikau and Tane return to the Bay, with the uncles unhappy about Nikau running off. Willow sends Colby away from the station. He runs into Taylor again and thanks Ari, Tane and Mackenzie for bringing Bella back. Bella tells Angelo she and Colby never talked about what happened to Ross. Nikau is unhappy that she left him and tells her that he needs space. Leah insists to Justin that if he isn't having surgery she has to keep an eye on him. Colby hears Angelo and Taylor arguing about him not being available to look at rentals and later meets her for another drink.

Ziggy and Dean touch base and see Bella with Willow. Bella tells Willow she slept with Nikau and she also learns about Jai. Alf sacks Nikau for not turning up to work but reconsiders when Bella says he was helping her. Bella and Nikau make up. Dean is aghast to learn Colby is spending time with Taylor, despite him believing it's causing Angelo to go easy on them. Dean is unhappy at the lack of contact with Amber so Willow tricks Amber into meeting him. Amber agrees to Dean seeing Jai again but isn't sure she'll ever tell him Dean's his father. Marilyn gives Roo a day's pampering to distract her from Evan. Mackenzie learns she has missed an e-mail from her estate agent giving her a month's notice and now has 24 hours to vacate. Mackenzie tells Dean about moving in with Ari and makes pointed remarks about him and Ziggy. Dean invites Ziggy for dinner at Salt but she refuses to go home with him afterwards. He tells her they need to find a way to live together and have Jai in his life. Justin is infuriated about the situation with Ava. He and Leah decide to go to the city to see her. Ari arranges a candlelit bath for Mackenzie for her first night in the house but Tane accidentally walks in on her. Next morning, Mackenzie tries to get Tane to explain why he's so uncomfortable with her.

Ziggy continues to insist to Dean that he needs to get things clear with Amber and Jai. Amber asks Dean to look after Jai for the day while she takes John for a license check. Afterwards, Dean takes the pair to Salt and asks Amber how things are going to work long term. Mackenzie continues to enjoy spending time with Ari and Tane asks her to put them on different shifts. Bella walks in on Colby and Taylor, but her amusement turns to horror when Dean and Willow tell her she's Angelo's wife. Willow has a word with Amber, who tells Dean she's fine with him being part of Jai's life. Alf and Marilyn comment to Roo on Ryder spending so much time with Owen and she decides to take some of the responsibility off him. Taylor mentions the forensics report to Colby; he impersonates Angelo to get the report and learns they found nothing. Bella and Willow remain worried about the lengths he's going to.

Ryder shows Owen around town and introduces him to Nikau and Irene. Roo waits for him at the caravan park but runs off when the conversation about Evan becomes too uncomfortable. Justin agrees to tell Ava the truth in the morning but initially bottles it. Tori confides in Jasmine about her fears. Justin eventually tells Ava about the cavernoma and Leah fills her in. Justin tells Tori he's going to consider having the operation.

Tane makes himself scarce again when Mackenzie joins him and Ari. Roo gets advice from Marilyn on her date but runs off when Owen turns up, getting Alf to call things off for her. She does go for a walk with Owen next day. Tori arranges for Justin to see a neurosurgeon, Christian Green, who tells him that although there is a risk, there could be more blood vessels bursting if the cluster grows. Nikau tells Colby about Bella being taken down the station. Angelo releases her after a quick chat but knows Colby was lying about her state of mind. Irene is unhappy that he tricked her. Willow makes a fake phone call to the station claiming to have seen Ross two months after he died. John spends all day hanging around the Diner on the pretext of prepping for a committee meeting with Alf. Taylor is upset when Angelo leaves town to investigate the lead. Despite Willow trying to keep them apart, Colby meets Taylor in a motel room.

Ziggy challenges Dean to come up with a hundred reasons for her to move back in and Willow puts off telling him about Colby, who spends the night with Taylor. Irene realises John is lonely and she and Alf arrange for him to go and visit Jett. Willow confronts Colby about spending time with Taylor; he agrees to call it off but Dean doesn't believe him and sure enough, despite Taylor talking to Jasmine about being married to a police officer, they meet up again. Dean cancels a lunch with Jai, infuriating Amber, and tells Ziggy he doesn't want her moving in.

Christian calls by the Morgan house and tells Tori, Justin and Leah that Justin's surgery is scheduled for tomorrow. Justin sorts things out with Ziggy at the garage and spends a night at the hospital before being taken into theatre. Owen suggests he and Roo try a date again and have dinner at Salt with an attentive Ryder serving them .Ziggy is unhappy that Dean threw her out while Amber tells him he can't see Jai any more after letting him down; Willow tries to plead his case. Dean tells Ziggy about covering up Colby killing Ross and she orders him out.

Willow and Amber run into Dean outside the surf club; he refuses to tell Amber what's going on but tells Willow he told Ziggy everything. Christian takes Justin into surgery but quickly realises the tumour is a lot larger and attached to a lot more important organs than the scan showed: He removes as much as he can safely but there is a risk of paralysis whether he removes more or leaves it to potentially grow back. Ari and Mackenzie have another encounter with Tane on the beach. All are thrown that Nikau has moved Bella in with them; Ari worries about more trouble with Colby but they hear nothing from him. Mackenzie convinces Ari to soften towards the idea but Bella decides to go home anyway. Roo takes Owen out for dinner at Salt but they are interrupted by John. Next day, Marilyn gets Alf and Ryder out of the house. Roo takes Owen back there for coffee and cake and kisses him. Roo and Owen end up sleeping together while Marilyn keeps Alf and Ryder at the Diner. Ryder asks him his intentions but they seem committed to continuing. John puts his foot in it questioning Ziggy about Dean and later has a catch-up with Marilyn. Marilyn tells Alf it's the first time she hasn't felt sad talking to him. Ari tries to convince Mackenzie to stay at the Paratas' but she moves in with Ziggy instead. Ari suspects Tane had something to do with it.

Bella and Nikau reflect on Colby's absence from the flat while he spends another night with Taylor. Tane tries to dodge Ari's questions but Mackenzie admits she moved out to make things easier for him. Tane tries to tell Ari not to throw their relationship away. Willow returns and Colby tells her and Bella he's finished things with Taylor. Colby has an altercation with Ziggy and later sees Angelo giving her his number. He warns Ziggy that Dean would go down as well. He then meets with Taylor. Bella photographs them kissing but says nothing to Colby about it.

Bella runs into first Mackenzie and then Taylor at the surf club before sending Colby the photo of him and Taylor. Colby snatches her camera and deletes the photos, demanding she supports him, before meeting up with Taylor again. Ari is still unhappy with Mackenzie's choices regarding Tane and decides to take a job in the city for a couple of days to give her space to work it out. Roo and Owen have dinner with Alf and Marilyn where he makes a favourable impression. Next day, however, when Roo comes to see him, he abruptly sends her away.

Roo tells Ryder about Owen's bad mood and he tries to talk to him. Roo goes back and learns it is Owen's birthday and therefore Evan's. She, Alf, Marilyn and Ryder arrange a lunch to mark both and Ryder is left wondering where his life's going. Leah is looking after Grace and takes her in to see Justin, ultimately leaving her with him. Jasmine helps Irene out by taking Justin's takeaway in. Ruby takes Justin for his scan and he asks Jasmine to look after her. She is found doing so by Leah, who tells Justin he's lucky Tori didn't catch them.

John tells Amber he's recovered enough not to need her and they both question Ziggy about Dean's absence. Dean returns and Amber suggests he have Jai overnight. Ziggy nearly goes to see him but leaves on seeing them together. Jai is quiet and Dean discovers he has a temperature. Alf counsels Ryder over his worries he's not doing anything with his life. Leah and Justin tell Tori about leaving Grace with Jasmine and Tori decides to withdraw the AVO. Christian gives Justin the all-clear to go home then arranges a drink with Tori.

Angelo tries to talk to Ziggy at Salt while Tori has a meal with Christian nearby. Ziggy goes round to see Dean and finds him struggling with Jai; they call Tori, who diagnoses Jai with an ear infection and gets them to take him to hospital. Amber fails to respond to calls having left the club with a man and Dean refuses to let her take Jai until she sobers up. After a talking to from Willow, Amber accepts her faults. Angelo presses Dean to tell him about Colby in exchange for a lighter sentence, which is witnessed by Colby and Willow. Dean makes it clear he's thinking of taking a deal to be there for Jai. Tori tells Leah and Justin about her kisses with Christian. Leah encourages her to go for it but they get caught up in looking after an MVA victim, Stephen. Tori later finds Christian having dinner with Jasmine. Colby apologises to Dean who refuses to talk to Angelo. Willow convinces Colby to look into Angelo.

Dean runs into Amber and Jai at the surf club and Bella later meets him as well. Dean discovers Amber hasn't had any work since she stopped helping John. He takes her and Jai out for dinner but Amber walks away when he tries to give her money. Tori is irritable with both Jasmine and Christian at work and Justin blurts out to Jasmine that Tori likes Christian. Jasmine tries to set them up and Tori ends up coming home monologuing about the "hot doc" without realising Christian's there. They arrange to go for a drink once he comes back from the city. Colby learns Angelo ...

Dean tries to talk to Amber but she walks away. Willow asks Amber about her attitude and, although her first attempt to talking to Dean goes nowhere, she eventually agrees he can buy Jai a bike for his birthday and she'll come to him if she really does need help. Bella warns Taylor off Colby and she ends things, but when Colby realises what has happened, he tells Bella to stay out of it and meets up with Taylor again. Nikau is exasperated by Bella's obsession with splitting them up and she breaks up with him. Owen is distracted and not interesting in spending any time...

Ari returns from the city and Tane takes him to Salt. Mackenzie is reluctant to talk to him and admits she doesn't know where she's heading. Nikau confides in Ryder about his and Bella's break-up but can't tell him the whole story. Roo tells Irene and Marilyn about Owen leaving. After a talking to from Alf, Owen tells Roo he wants to visit Evan's grave and asks her to come with him. Alf, Marilyn and Ryder wave them off. After hearing Nikau talking about Bella, Ari demands an answer from Mackenzie without success, then tells Tane it's over. Tane goes to see Ziggy and ...

Alf runs into Leah and Justin at the Diner. Marilyn convinces him to go and see Martha and he says goodbye to her and Ryder. Mackenzie goes home from work upset. Ari makes peace with Tane but abandons him to reunite with Mackenzie. Tane tells Mackenzie he's quitting his job. Leah and Justin invite Ziggy over for dinner but have to tell her Justin won't be back at work for five weeks. Justin loses feeling in his hand while making breakfast but hides it.

Dean and Willow tell Ziggy about the birthday party for Jai. Ziggy convinces Justin to let her give Tane a job at the garage. Justin tells Leah his symptoms have returned. They make an appointment with Christian but intend to hide it from Tori; however, Marilyn tells them she's been called into work. After some ribbing from John, Dean asks Amber about Karen meeting Jai but she refuses point blank, knowing how Karen treated Dean when he was young. Despite leaving Karen a message, Dean doesn't tell her when she calls back.

Amber tells Willow that she and Dean have sorted things and Dean confirms he just wants to enjoy Jai's birthday. Christian helps hide Justin's presence at the hospital while Leah decoys Tori. Christian admits that the tumor has returned and will talk to his team. Tori sees Justin and Leah leaving and tries to question Christian. Amber's mother Francesca turns up at the party and makes it clear she doesn't like Dean being there. Although Amber supports him, when Dean tries to insist Karen see Jai, she threatens to stop Dean seeing him.

Angelo tells Taylor that he thinks Colby killed Ross. Taylor meets Colby at the motel and he assures her he didn't. Tori confronts Leah and Justin about his diagnosis, thinking he didn't trust her, but is reassured when Justin says he was trying to protect her. Dean and Amber discuss Karen again; Amber understands but still worries Karen could relapse and Dean accepts her terms. He realises Colby is still seeing Taylor. Angelo tells Taylor his reasons and is suspicious when she mentions other people were with Colby. Angelo watches Colby from the pier.

Mackenzie and Ari are having to spend all their time at hers to avoid Tane and Ari's attempt to talk to him fails. Bella has a run-in with Angelo and again tries to tell Taylor to stay away from Colby. Colby tries to take her to task but is forced to accept her argument that it won't end well and breaks up with Taylor. Nikau is frustrated when Bella keeps changing her mind about spending time with him. Tane ends up losing his temper with Ari and Nikau.

Ari and Mackenzie discuss Tane's disappearance but Mackenzie is told he is doing errands for Ziggy. Ari finds out from Marilyn that Nikau might leave town. Mackenzie confronts Amber after talking to Willow. Amber is unhappy about Francesca's handling of things but defends her to Willow and refuses Dean's suggestion of a proper legal agreement between them. Dean finds an envelope left on his doorstep containing his criminal record and a note saying he'll never win. He finds Jai has been left alone by Francesca and takes him away.

Amber asks Willow and Colby if they've seen Dean, who is holed up with Jai in some old friends' place. She also blasts Francesca for leaving Jai alone and riling Dean up. Ari is worried about Tane; Ziggy tells Mackenzie he stayed with friends while waiting for car parts and gets enigmatic calls from both him and Dean. She tells Willow what's going on and Willow agrees to help her. She also gets Dean's address from Nugget; he is about to take Jai to Queensland when Colby shows up and threatens to arrest him.

Colby continues trying to convince Dean to return Jai. Amber ends up confiding in John. Dean eventually returns Jai after realising he'd miss Amber, but Amber refuses to let him see Jai again and Dean blames Colby. John talks to Marilyn about two people who care for each other tearing each other apart. Tori is preparing to go on a date with Christian but he is called in for an emergency. Ziggy continues to plead with Dean but they are interrupted by Willow. Nikau insists on moving back in with Ari and Tane, who clear the air with Ryder. Mackenzie joins them for dinner, with business as usual, until a car drives at Nikau while he's walking and they're left maintaining watch. Tane keeps watch overnight. Ari walks Mackenzie into work and they fill Ziggy in on what's going on. Tane calls Paul asking what he needs to do to pay off the debt. A brick through the window directs him to a meeting with Paul and Leon, which Ari follows him to. They agree to do one last job. Nikau chats to Irene before Angelo tells Jasmine that Colby's bail was high. Ziggy and Mackenzie clam up in front of Nikau. Jasmine puts the gym up as collateral for Colby's bail and he, Dean, Willow and Bella return to town. Colby is determined to find out who Angelo's star witness is. Mackenzie confronts Dean, who then has to stop Colby menacing Ziggy, telling her she did the right thing walking away. Nikau realises his uncles are out of town and demands answers from Mackenzie.

Tori tries desperately to bake a cake for Grace's birthday but all her efforts turned out badly. Justin hides his symptoms to help with the setting up. Mackenzie fills Nikau in on Ari and Tane's job. They return with the money which Tane hands over to Paul, but then get a message from him saying one more job. Roo prepares for a date with Owen while Marilyn pretends not to care when she finds out about John's dating app. Jasmine is uncomfortable to learn Christian is coming to the party.

Tori, Jasmine, Justin and Leah gather for Grace's party, with Christian and Marilyn joining them. Jasmine is put out to see Christian, Tori and Grace acting like a family and when Tori gives her a bracelet the same as hers. She bins it but Irene later retrieves it and they are left looking after Grace when Justin is rushed to hospital after losing feeling in his legs. Willow and Dean discuss the witness list, but when it arrives a key witness' name is missing. Colby concludes there's nothing else he can do and elects to spend the last day before court with Dean, Willow and Bella. Angelo is insisting Taylor testify and Colby tells her she deserves better than either of them. Owen concludes that Roo loves Evan and decides to leave town, disappointing Ryder. Ryder sets Marilyn up with a dating app. Colby tells Willow that killing Ross has led him to this. Willow meets Angelo and hands over a wire tap of the confession.

Colby and Dean go for a last surf before court. Marilyn continues to get alerts on the dating app, infuriating Alf and Irene until Irene loses her temper and accuses her of competing with John. After a chat with Roo, Marilyn says she'll delete it but then gets more alerts. Willow convinces Colby to let her stay outside with Bella as Angelo presents the police evidence. John tells Jasmine that the gym is closed. Colby announces that everything Willow said was true and changes his plea to guilty. The judge sentences him to 25 years with non-parole of 20. Taylor leaves before that and fills in Jasmine, who spreads the news around town. Dean and Bella refuse to forgive Willow, who decides to leave town, saying goodbye to Irene and Jasmine. Marilyn tells Irene she deleted the app but is still getting alerts. She and John are alerted to each other and she accidentally matches him.

Ari is distracted by the family's problems when Mackenzie tries to talk to him. John is feeling hopeful after Marilyn swiped right on him and Ryder tries to avoid getting involved. Irene gets Marilyn to admit she made a mistake and delete the app but John stays on it. Justin is feeling down and snapping at Leah. Irene gets John to talk to him and he gets movement back in his toes. Mackenzie wants to sell her car and Tane is keen to let her but Ari refuses. Mackenzie gets Leon's number off him and says she has a proposal.

Tane convinces Ziggy to join him and Nikau for a drink. Mackenzie secretly meets Paul and Leon and hands over car. Ari is annoyed but grateful. Alf is bothered when the subject of Martha dating during their decades apart comes up. Justin and Christian decide the swelling has gone down enough for him to have the operation the next day. Tori wants him to spend a few more days on steroids but Leah, Justin and Christian refuse to agree with her. Tane persuades Ziggy to tell Justin she needs help at the garage but she arrives to find him being taken into surgery.

Bella and Dean return after learning they can't visit Colby in his first week and Alf gives Nikau the day off to help support Bella. Ryder has been offered a hospitality internship but tells Roo and Martha it's not the right time for him to go. However, some words from Alf and Bella and Nikau's support cause him to change his mind. Martha gets a note from someone called Kieran which she hides from the others. Justin comes through his surgery and Tori admits Christian was right. Dean gets drunk in Salt then turns up at Ziggy's saying he needs her.

Dean drunkenly tells Ziggy he wants a future with her. When she refuses to discuss it, he drives off. She tells Mackenzie and Tane, after which she and Tane find Dean passed out at the wheel and Tane takes him home. Martha announces she's going back to Merimbula but doesn't want Alf to come with her. She confides in Irene that Kieran is her adult son and she has a difficult relationship with him, including calling the police last time she saw him. Mackenzie tells Ari about her concerns with Dean. Tane helps Ziggy order Dean out of the garage and gets some parts for her, but gives her a wide berth after Dean warns him he was in his place once. Ziggy tells Dean to stay away from her and Mackenzie refuses to serve him at Salt so he heads to Mangrove River. John has arranged a date with Cynthia and gets Mackenzie to organise VIP service for them at Salt. Bella and Nikau tease him about it. Ari and Tane hide what's going on from Mackenzie but eventually tell Nikau and want him to stay with Gemma. Bella convinces him to go, even though it means her being left alone in the flat. John's date fails to turn up. Tori unwraps Grace's presents when Justin is released from hospital, including the bracelet from Jasmine. Jasmine is unhappy that Irene retrieved it, while Tori is left feeling she's upset her despite Jasmine telling her to forget it. Christian tells Tori she's the one with the problem.

Angelo runs into Taylor on the beach and reveals he'll be leaving town in a few days. She admits to Jasmine that she's not sure whether their marriage is over or not and meets Angelo for a drink, where he suggests she needs to sort out her feelings with Colby.
