It should read:- "Comedian Tony Hancock stars, in this BBC situation comedy TV series, as Anthony Aloysius St John Hancock, a down-at-heel comedian living in Earls Court."

In a radio studio, they're doing an episode of the rural melodrama "The Bowmans"(a play on "The Archers"). Cast member Tony ad libs and can't keep in character. He's going to get sacked, so he tries to make the most of his final programme.

In Tony's seedy flat, he has a massive ham radio set up, which he wiles away time with talking to improbable foreigners. But when an opportunity to be a hero arises from a distress signal, Tony's not up to the challenge.
