Mona does not want to celebrate her birthday because of past disappointing birthdays. Dee Dee refuses to accept Mona not celebrating her birthday, then an earthquake strikes.

Dee Dee begins to worry the baby is forcing her out of her parents' life. Mona uses Adam as a substitute for Spencer when he keeps ditching her for his girlfriend, Camille.

When Mona encourages her mother to start dating again, Phyllis joins her social circle; Dee Dee helps her father evicts a tenant.

Mona discovers a potential new talent; Dee Dee thinks she has found the perfect man.

Women find Spencer irresistible because of his unavailable status. Phyllis starts dating a man who Dee Dee finds out is married. Phyllis knew all along and was keeping it from Mona. When Mona reminds her that Big Dee Dee was once her husband's mistress, Phyllis decides to break it off .

Spencer's cousin Chauncey begins working in the mailroom and recalls in college Mona and Spencer slept together.

Big Dee Dee's baby shower turns cold when Mona feels her confidence has been betrayed after learning that Dee Dee has told her cousin Barbara that Mona's relationship problems stem from her mother's bitterness. Meanwhile, Spencer wants to fit in with Camille's high-society friends, so he agrees to let Adam and his friends give him a metrosexual makeover .

At Charles and Big Dee Dee's Christmas gathering, Mona gets upset that Spencer decides not to attend and Dee Dee is shocked when the ex-boyfriend she invited reveals he is engaged. Phyllis' date, a loveable "mall Santa" turns into a sexed-up lothario, and once the costume comes off it is up to Charles to step in and put an end to his groping. But Charles' concern for Phyllis only inflames the fires of jealousy in Big Dee Dee .

When Camille sets Mona up with her best friend Roger, Mona thinks she may have met "the one." However, the bubble bursts when Roger admits he is in love with Camille. Camille doesn't feel the same way about him and it ruins their relationship. Mona and Spencer tell each other that they are glad they never went down that road. Meanwhile, Charles and Big Dee Dee have decided to keep the sex of their baby a mystery. However, the secret ends up being too much for Big Dee Dee and Dee Dee, so Charles eventually agrees to find out the sex of the child. It is a boy .

Delicious Records is bought out and a new boss, respected music business veteran Kai Owens, takes over the company.

After Camille returns from a work trip in London, she decides to move home and tells Spencer she is leaving. While recording a lullaby birth announcement CD for Big Dee Dee, Mona finds a love interest in the sound engineer, Nick .

Aurora, a friend of Dee Dee's who is visiting (after recently undergoing gastric bypass surgery) catches Spencer's eye. Adam is upset that everybody but Spencer and his new date are canceling on his Vegas birthday bash. By telling Spencer and Aurora that while they were drunk the night before they got married, Adam ensures all of his friends will come to Vegas to sort out the mess. Mona and Nick's romance continues to bloom .

Dee Dee becomes hysterical when her mother goes into labor.

Dee Dee dates a tough guy in order to prove to Mona that she does not have a dating type. Big Dee Dee is having trouble adjusting to new motherhood.

Big Dee Dee hires a handsome male nanny to care for Drew. Mona must fire Adam.

With Drew's christening approaching, Mona and Dee Dee vie for the right to be their brother's godmother. They grow increasingly competitive as they buy him gifts to impress Charles and Big Dee Dee.

Dee Dee vies a rival law student, Stephanie, for a summer internship. Kai takes an interest in Spencer.

Big Dee Dee, Phyllis, Mona, and Dee Dee make plans to spend Mother's Day together at a brunch/concert. Mona tries to find something to get Big Dee Dee when she learns Dee Dee is buying something for Phyllis.

Dee Dee runs into her ex-boyfriend, Clay, who has a foot fetish. An old school artist offers to let Delicious sample his tracks in exchange for a date with Phyllis.

Phyllis has a new man and is reluctant about introducing him to everyone for fear of jinxing the relationship. Mona meets nick's parents and their attitudes about their son dating interracially threaten their relationship.

Dee Dee assigns herself the task of personally helping Mona get over her break-up with Nick. Unknowingly, it causes Mona to end up in Spencer's arms.
