After the death of playwright Julian Webb, Ray Stuart tries to prove he has ghost-written all of Webb's plays.

On his return to Nugget City, traveling medicine man Doc Boatwright is spotted by Adie Walter who, having been conned into buying Boatwright's saloon, has a score to settle with the charming medicine peddler.

Major John Marshall abandons his damaged plane, which crashes into a house and kills two children.

Sarge, an elderly checkers champ, can be beaten by only one person - Benny, a seven year old boy. When a local story offers a large sum of money to anyone who can beat a robot at checkers, Sarge decides to match Benny against the machine.

A veteran suffering from post traumatic stress syndrome finds it difficult to go back to his old life. Larry Morris decides to attend a reunion of the squadron, he deserted under fire during World War II.

He makes himself and his stockholders wealthy while he churns out TV fare. Writer's block sends him back into dire financial straits.
