When Joan's dream of opening up her own restaurant comes into jeopardy, Toni seeks help from William as the one person who can help.

Toni goes all-out in an effort to seduce and win back the romantic favor of her husband, Todd, but unbeknown to her, he has already made up his mind.

As Maya's literary career rises, her performance at work falls below satisfactory, so William fires her.

Joan is caught off-guard by her mother as she prepares to open her restaurant; Maya has "the talk" with Jabari after finding he's been watching adult films.

A panicked visit to the hospital encourages Joan to finally consent her feelings about William; Maya is ambushed on Lynn's TV show.

Lynn's adoptive father becomes jealous when her biological father arrives for a visit. Meanwhile, Toni avoids Todd's divorce lawyer. Joan and William try to plan their official first date.

Maya's slowly waning dream of becoming a renowned author is suddenly revived when a surprise celebrity endorses the contents of her book.

William surprises Joan with a romantic Christmas getaway in Puerto Rico, but they wind up stuck at a seedy motel after a blizzard strands them in Cincinnati during a layover. Meanwhile, Lynn, Maya and Toni take advantage of Joan's absence to enjoy the holiday at her house without all of her strict Christmas rules and other demanding behavior.

William decides Joan may still have feelings for her former fiancé, Brock, when she fails to introduce him as her current boyfriend.

During a house-showing, Toni's client, her wealthy handsome ex, seals the deal with a kiss. Toni's estranged husband, Todd hits pause on their divorce, after learning she's moved on.

Joan and William's long-awaited night of passion starts off with a series of awkward events and ends with a bittersweet realization. Toni, Lynn and Maya swap secrets over a Valentine's Day dinner.

Maya's ex-husband, Darnell, shows up at her book signing, and she thinks it's a sign he wants her back. Despite an amicable break-up, Joan and William can't find their way back to friendship.

As J-Spot's grand-opening nears, everything goes wrong; A famous Queen of Comedy does not find Maya, Toni or Lynn's antics amusing; William's new pretty, quirky friend reminds Joan of "someone".

Lynn unintentionally steals the spotlight and her brother's dream of joining a band.

Darnell and his fiancée Lena's happiness makes Jabari unhappy and rebellious. William says he's over Joan, but Toni and Lynn don't buy it.

Lynn questions what to do about her feelings, after falling for her womanizing bandmate, Finn.

Toni learns her Mom's visit is less about her, and more about an old flame. William and Joan panic and brainstorm when J-Spot fails to attract customers.

An inebriated Darnell tells Maya he still loves her; meanwhile, Lynn agrees to an open relationship with Finn, as Joan and William restore their friendship.

After Darnell gets drunk and tells Maya that he loves her, she tries to break up his wedding. Toni goes into labor. Lynn tells Finn how she feels about him and quits the band.
