Chopped - Season 45 (2020)

It's a rough reunion with the Chopped kitchen when the returning champs find a diabolical set of ingredients in their first basket. The chef who best handles a salad cake in the dessert round moves on to the $50, 000 finale.

The chefs set out to make a whole day's worth of amazing food with the cooking rounds changed to breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Chefs are competing to develop tasty foods using unique basket items. The appetizer round must include chicken hearts, spaghetti ring ice pops, black summer truffles, and avocado fries. The entrée round features fried chicken bao, turkey breast, horseradish leaves, and instant lemon pudding mix. Finally, babka cheesecake, pickled cherry blossoms, canary melon, and bacon brittle are required in the dessert round.

The theme for this episode is producing at least one smoked item in each round. Chefs are using unique ingredients such as sablefish, smoked baba ghanoush, marshmallow bouquet, and chioggia beets in the appetizer round. Elk ribeye, Ancho Chile Liqueur, marrow bones, and fava beans were the mandatory ingredients in the entrée round. Finally, the dessert round featured ingredients as crème brûlée ice cream, pineapple, shredded coconut, and smoked salmon candy.

Chefs will generated unique dishes using some relentless ingredients. Geoduck, cucumber kimchi, spring onion, and biscuits and sausage gravy are to be used in the appetizer round. Squab, chocolate fish, poblano peppers, and canned jackfruit are featured in the entrée round. Finally, the dessert round must include dessert pizza, sun-dried bell peppers, huckleberries, and purple sweet potatoes.

Four chefs have to tackle with basket ingredients such as beef tendon, bok choy, dried persimmon, and pea milk to develop tasty appetizers. Three chefs will compete using items from the basket including Lomo Ibérico, Chinese okra, king oyster mushrooms, and pinto beans and cheese during the entrée round. Two chefs will compete in the dessert round using apple tarte tatin, mangoes, preserved yogurt, and graham crackers with the remaining chef becoming the Chopped Champion.

These returning Chopped Champion chefs have to develop tantalizing dishes while incorporating very unique mandatory basket items. The appetizer round will include mixed oca, seaweed salad, paw paw brandy, and cod milt. The entrée round features octopus corn dogs, pink variegated lemons, tomahawk steaks, and potluck potato casserole. Yogurt soda, carved melons, Serrano ham, and ice cream tacos must be used in the dessert round. Which chef will present the most creative and tasty dishes and win the $50,000 prize?

Four chefs will each create a tasty appetizer using the mandatory basket ingredients such as vegan pork, pecan kringle, mixed beet blush, and moringa powder. Three chefs will create tantalizing entrées using lamb shoulder, spaghetti sushi, burrata, and baby artichokes. In the dessert round, two chefs will use frog eye salad, papaya, Negroni, and dried mulberries as they compete to become the Chopped Champion.

Chefs will compete to develop an appetizer using hot chicken poutine, Argentinian sausage, fava beans, and sour bamboo slices. Red grouper, spring garlic, bubble tea, and broccoli and cheese calzones are required for the entrée round. The remaining two chefs will fight to become the Chopped champion while they develop a dessert with Chinese bacon, rainbow pretzels, black mission figs, and canned custard. Who will take home the $10,000 prize.

Pastry chefs compete in three rounds of a special chocolate desserts competition that feature a crunchy round, a gooey round, and a fruity round rather than an appetizer, entrée, and dessert round. Ingredients featured in the crunchy round include milk and chocolate chip cookies, chocolate-covered shrimp chips, fermented honey, and tamarillos. Kumquats, miso, chocolate ganache tarts, and spicy chocolate wings are mandatory ingredients in the gooey round. Two chefs will compete in the final fruity round featuring white chocolate banana pudding, freeze dried raspberries...

The chefs learn that they will be required to fry something in every course; in the appetizer round, a brightly colored beverage and a stuffed pasta are part of the puzzle; a wild sundae brings fun to an exciting dessert round.
