Allen teed off with a monolog, good for some chuckles, in which he lampooned Ed Sullivan's deadpanning on the latter's video programming. Then, in sympathizing with an Italian restaurateur's beefs about TV shows, he presented a series of skits showing what actually should happen on TV. The "I Remember Father" takeoff was overdone, but the others, including the satire on shampoo commercials, were good. This led into Allen's "City Billy" song, done with a male quartet, as a parody of the hillbilly numbers. Finale sketch, about the new gamblers' licensing, was fair. Show...
