Attorney Rudolf Berger almost hits with his car alcoholic Erwin Stobbe and runs away after this gets mad. The day after Stobbe is found killed and in his pocket the police finds a paper with Berger's name and address: the attorney is arrested with the accusation of murder, just while he was attending a trial where his counterpart was represented by Dr. Franck, who accepts to defend him.
