By age 12, her northern Italian-born parents decided it was important that Sylvia and her brother Roberto (founder/CEO of RDF Football - a top European football agency) be raised in their native Italy. The family moved to Rome, where Sylvia has called "home", ever since. She attended Rome's Universita La Sapienza, then was accepted to La Sorbonne, where she enrolled in a Human Sciences curriculum (including courses in Cinema, Postmodernism and Women & Gender Studies). In Paris, she stoked her feminism and human rights activism, perfected her French, honed her acting skills and went on stage for the first time. She returned to Rome, continuing her intense comedy and drama acting training. Sylvia graduated Cum Laude with an M.S. in Science of Communication in Cultural Anthropology.
