Star Herrmann was born Star Hayner in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Star has three children, Rory Herrmann (formerly Rory Ryan), Ryen Herrmann, and Emma Herrmann. She was previously married to Richard Roman. Starr Herrmann and Richard Roman are the biological parents of Rory Roman, who, as an adult changed his name to Rory Herrmann, in honor of his step-father, Edward Herrmann. Star Roman met her future second husband, Edward Herrmann, when she was an extra in the film, Harry's War (1981), where she played the role of "Hooker". During the filming of this movie, Edward Herrmann fathered a child with Star, and she subsequently filed a paternity suit against him. Star and Edward Herrmann eventually married in 1992. The marriage ended upon Edward Herrmann's death in December 2014.
