Mukesh Khanna won the Uptron Award as Best Supporting Actor in 1989 whereas Pankaj Dheer won the Uptron Award for Best Actor in a lead role category for Karna.From 1997 to 2005 he starred as the protagonist in India's first superhero series Shaktimaan which was produced by his own production house Bheeshm International. The show became popular among 90s kid.
