Forced by her parents to attend dance lessons at the tender age of 7, Evelina Papoulia grew up in Athens, capital of Greece, where she graduated from the Higher Professional School "Anna Petrova". Following her graduation, she moved to New York in 1991, at the age of 20, alongside a friend of hers, where she studied in the Lee Strasberg Theater Institute. She also took part in several plays, such as "West Side Story" (1993), while she also participated in the Mega Dance Company. Despite the fact she didn't manage to become an American citizen, as she originally wanted, she returned to her native Athens in 1993 and started appearing in various TV series. Evelina first claimed stardom as the hysterical blond TV persona Marina Kountouratou, in Dyo xenoi (1997). Afterwards she made her film debut in the enormously successful Safe Sex (1999), with a small part, and unleashed her sexy side in Enas & enas (2000). She has also proven herself on stage, as in "Waiting Till Dark" (1999).
