Crowned Miss Universe 1987, Cecilia Bolocco began her television career in broadcast news programs in the United States and her native Chile, before moving on to Spanish-language soap operas. When she married American television producer Michael Young in Santiago, the local media covered the event as if it were a royal wedding. She later moved to Atlanta where she began working as a CNN news anchor. Later, she joined Telemundo, fronting several talk shows, even winning an Emmy. In recent years, she became a major interest to media hounds in Latin America due to her relationship with the former President of Argentina, Carlos Menem, whom she married in 2001.
